Meet Chris Frazier

Resilient, Empathetic, and Supportive of those who grieve.

Chris Frazier, a previous podcast interviewee, now joins GGB as a new podcast co-host and bereavement doula.

Chris holds a Master’s degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Colorado State University as well as a Bachelor in Communication and Minor in Psychology from Oregon Institute of Technology.

Her own journey with grief after the loss of her two month old daughter Emily, has inspired Chris to find ways to support others in their own grief journey. To that end, Chris, together with her close friend Daree, received her certification as a Stillbirthday Birth & Bereavement Doula® and began a bereavement doula service known as Ray of Hope. Additionally, Chris serves on the board of Lion’s Heart Children’s Grief Support in Spokane, WA.

Of her grief experience, Chris says “what I found most helpful in my coping was finding and talking with others who had experienced loss who could understand and validate my feelings and experience. These women were truly a ray of hope during a very dark and difficult time. It is because of that invaluable support and guidance that I became a birth and bereavement doula. I want to help other families navigate their own loss and help them find Hope among the darkness."

Meet Daree Blake

Relatable, Knowledgeable, and Experienced in the Art of Healing

Daree's journey into birth and bereavement support was profoundly shaped by the traumatic premature birth of twins, in which Oliver passed away and Emma survived.

Having discovered a lack of support for families experiencing the loss of a baby, Daree determined to fill this gap by becoming a Stillbirthday Birth & Bereavement Doula®.

She partnered with her close friend, Chris, to establish Ray of Hope doula services. Daree is a Certified Mentor with the national organization, Hand to Hold. She also volunteers with Sacred Heart Hospital’s "Passport to the NICU" parent support group in Spokane, WA, helping families navigate the challenges of the NICU experience.

Daree believes that a family's capacity to love can grow deeper, despite tragic loss. "While the pain never fully goes away, you can find joy again, and the love for your baby will never die," she shares.
